Hi, my name is Gena Fraser and I am a Postgraduate student in the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services. I’m also part of the Student Council for 2020/21 and hold the Open Seat Representative seat. The main duties and responsibilities of the Open Seat Representative are to: connect with and collect feedback from students, ensure that that their voices are heard via meetings with Chester Student Union and to suggest solutions to problems.

Therefore, I have compiled a short Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Student Experience Survey, that consists of 8 questions that seeks to explore the BAME student experience at the university. Both positive and negative experiences are welcome. The survey is anonymous and will take approximately no more than 10 minutes to complete. The link to the survey can be found by clicking here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/8K6NZKN The survey will be close on Monday 11th January 2021 at 5pm.

Information collated from the survey will be used, to better understand the BAME student experience and to help influence the universities future policies and strategies going forward.

With that being said, I’d like to encourage you all to participate in the survey and to let your voices be heard. Please also share the survey link on all of your social media.

I am available for online meetings where you can discuss your concerns and you can email me at:1901029@chester.ac.uk

Thank you for reading.

Kind regards

Gena Fraser (BSc Hons, Dip SpLD, ADG)
