Welcome to the first ever edition of Society Spotlight!

This monthly newsletter is designed to celebrate all the work you do as societies and to provide any updates from your societies or the CSU team that you need to know. It will also include the top five societies in the brand new Society+ Award competition.

We value any feedback you have across the year on what you might want to see in this newsletter, so please email studentopps@chester.ac.uk to make any suggestions!

Hello from our VP Student Life, Summer

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. It was so nice to meet you all at the Sports and Societies fair – well done on the number of signs up you all got! I’ll tell the next VP Student Life to make sure they run around with more paper next time…

It is so exciting to see what you are all getting up to, and throughout the year I hope to pop into some of your sessions to see it all first-hand. I am so excited for the first month’s league table for Society+ to come out, be sure to record your points and have fun! A great way of earning points is to attend Open Days as a society, so keep an eye out on your emails to get involved in the next one.

Finally, a huge welcome to all of our new societies, I can’t wait to see what you all get up to! If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Speak to you all next month!

Society Spotlight

University of Chester Open Day – 19th October

Special thanks to; CRAGS, Drama, Islamic Society, PR Nursing & Midwifery, and Evergreen Society for showcasing your societies at the Open Day earlier this month. It’s great for potential students to see what CSU has to offer, and having your support there means a lot!

Promote your society here!

Each month, we want to feature three societies in the ‘spotlight’ – do you have an event that went well or that you want to promote? Have you hit a membership milestone? To get featured, all you need to do is email studentopps@chester.ac.uk with why you want to get the spotlight and any text/information you want included in your segment (50-100 words). We will then pick three societies to be included.
