We, your CSU Elected Officers, have compiled a list of top tips to get you ready for September, ranging from things to bring with you, to tips to living in student accommodation.

In the meantime, why not follow us on social media and look through our website to bring you up to speed on all things CSU? We cannot wait to meet you. See you soon!

  • Speak to everyone! The people in your accommodation from your first year may become friends for your entire time at university and beyond… so speak to as many people as possible to socialise with them.
  • Speak to your residential advisor and get to know them! They will be able to help you long the way if you ever need any advice.
  • It goes by so much quicker than you will expect! Make the most of every moment. Sometimes, things may seem difficult with moving away from home for the first time, but you will soon make friends and create memories for life - enjoy it as much as you can!
  • Join a sports team or a society; you will meet so many likeminded people, so it is a great way to make new friends, as well as it being a good break from coursework.
