February was a productive and insightful month for the Officer Team!
360 degree review – We received valuable feedback from key stakeholders at the University and Chester Students' Union. Hearing insights from colleagues, university staff, and student representatives has helped us reflect on our strengths and identify areas for growth.
SHAG Week (Sexual Health and Guidance Week) – Huge thanks to everyone who attended! Lily led this initiative, ensuring students have access to free STD testing kits and condoms year-round in CSU toilets, reinforcing our commitment to student well-being.
Moodle Redesign & Exceptional Circumstances Campaign – Adedayo spearheaded campaigns highlighting key changes, ensuring students are informed about what’s new and what’s coming. He also hosted ‘Meet Your Moodle’ sessions with the University to capture student feedback.
Policy Development – Lily has been collaborating with the University to refine key policies and processes. More updates to come as she documents the journey!
Letter of Completion of Studies – Adedayo created a video on our CSU YouTube channel to guide International Students on how to apply for their letter of completion of studies. Just making life easy for them.
Adedayo attended MBA students’ mixer event at the back Bar, lovely to get feedback from students.
Officers on Tour – It has been fantastic engaging with students across campuses and gathering feedback. Keep an eye on @CSUOFFICERTEAM for upcoming visits, and we are also exploring the possibility of hosting online sessions for wider accessibility.
Annual Members' Meeting (AMM) – We had a great turnout from students as we shared our progress and ongoing initiatives.
Summer attended Neurodiversity Training led by Noah Thorley, gaining valuable insights.
We participated in the Student Leaders’ Conference and Strategic Focus Group Sessions, where we gathered key student feedback for future initiatives and led on some training sessions.
Summer represented students at a Chester Residents’ Association Group meeting, ensuring the student voice is heard in the wider community. She also collaborated with Chester’s Street Angels, filming a segment on their role in nightlife safety.
Finally, we attended the unveiling of a new statue, where Adedayo and Summer stepped in to assist Gyles Brandreth for the unveiling! Lily also had the honour of planting a tree.
That’s a wrap for February from your officer team.
