As a democratic organisation, it’s important to us that we allow students to vote for their representatives. This year, we were electing Student Council Officers across ten roles. Five of our Council positions had already been filled in our previous Spring Elections.
Six of those positions received nominations, and we had a total of sixteen candidates. We will be ensuring the other demographics still have their voices heard, which includes Disabled students, and the University Centres’ students, in other areas of Student Voice.
International Students' Officer: Boma Ngo Fubara
Asian, Arab & Ethnic Minority Students' Officer: Heiya Khan
Commuting Students' Officer: Wiktoria Zurek
Black Students' Officer: Ebubechukwu Ikeaba
Mature & Parent Students' Officer: Peter Davies
Environment & Ethics Officer: Toby Al-Amin
Student Council is the highest decision-making body at CSU. The elected part-time Officers will be approving Big Ideas, discussing policy, bringing student feedback to us, bringing their own ideas to CSU, and holding the Full-time Officers to account. Even if you aren’t elected, or you didn’t nominate yourself, you can submit your ideas to our Big Ideas platform, become a Student Voice Rep for your course, or just email or chat to the Officers with your own feedback or ideas if you want to get involved with CSU or want your voice heard!
The newly-elected Officers will be on the Student Council page - check back soon!
These are how your votes - all 3571 of them! - went towards candidates.
